the mind of the tongue in your cheek

This was the third iteration of my performative lecture series featuring a new kind of personal divination system derived from the English alphabet and decimal numeral system, inspired by the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis, which suggests that the language you speak shapes the thoughts that you think. I performed nine poems selected by the audience, told the story of how and why I came up with the system, and gave a full demonstration. My meditation video series Some Light Machinery was used to ‘tune the room’ between acts.
